CRN PRESSURE VESSELS

CRN Pressure Vessels

The United States and Canada use the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Section VIII code for standard pressure vessel design and construction. However, Canada also has the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) B51, which provides an expanded definition and regulations on pressure vessels.

Each Canadian province conducts its own registration and provides a Canadian Registration Number (CRN), which is put on the pressure vessel nameplate. There are 13 provinces and territories, but to register across all of Canada, the “product” must be registered with seven organizations or jurisdictions. The Atlantic Canada provinces and the northern territories have joined together to use one registration organization — ACI Central.

Saskatchewan is the only province that acknowledges ASME, the internationally recognized National Board registration system, as an acceptable alternative to CRNs, although an additional Saskatchewan filing fee also has to be paid per vessel. Pressure vessels that are CRN registered can also be National Board registered if desired, and a design can be registered in more than one jurisdiction. Pressure vessels manufactured outside Canada and intended for Canadian use must be registered with both the CRN and the National Board.

At BEPeterson, we design and manufacture CRN pressure vessels. We offer turnkey solutions to ensure you meet all ASME and CRN pressure vessel requirements for the province where the products will be used. BEPeterson provides national registration and single-province or multiple-province CRNs for OEM distribution.

Custom CRN Pressure Vessels

BEPeterson offers custom CRN pressure vessel design solutions for various industries. Our complete design and engineering services are beneficial for customers needing high-quality and carefully tested pressure vessels for their industrial applications.

Design

Whether you require a new pressure vessel design or a reconfiguration of an existing design, partnering with BEPeterson is the right choice. Our in-house engineering team has years of experience designing industrial equipment, including ASME, CRN, and PED pressure vessels, skid assemblies, and vacuum chambers. Equipped with extensive knowledge and expertise in metal and fabrication processes, we deliver the best possible design solutions for every customer.

Engineering

Product engineering is another of our strengths at BEPeterson. We assign a dedicated project engineer as a liaison officer for every order we receive. The engineer handles all communications with the customer and reviews all designs, plans and required codes before we begin procurement and manufacturing.

Meeting CRN Pressure Vessel Requirements

Substandard design and construction of pressure vessels can be a safety hazard. Pressure vessel fabricators must follow the standard code when planning for design pressure and temperature. At BEPeterson, we maintain the highest standards in our pressure vessel and tank fabrication process.

In addition to CRN-qualified pressure vessels, we hold the ASME single certification mark and certificate of authorization. All our pressure vessels meet the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code. We use superior-quality materials like stainless steel, high-alloy steel, Hastelloy and carbon steel in our projects to ensure they can handle strenuous applications.
